Features

The 301 was Echostar's standard issue receiver for several years of great subscriber growth. It replaced the mid-level 3900 previously given to new subscribers and the base model 2700/2800. It is the first DishPro receiver and the first of Dish's mass-produced receivers to have event timers. Other notable features are Dish Home, 2 days of guide in memory, local channel remapping, and Caller ID. Replaced by the DishPro 311.

Due to the anticipated conversion of Western Arc channels from QPSK to 8PSK (modulation method for the satellite broadcast), as of Jan 2012 the 301 is no longer being activated and those in service are already being replaced by the 311.
